MOTOCROSS / FREESTYLE
OUR FAVORITE RIDER TO WATCH

Travis Pastrana, age nineteen, has won several events on an RM125 such as the: Outdoor Nationals, Supercross, X-Games, and Gravity Games. He is currently in search for these same victories on an RM250 beginning Janurary 2003 with Supercross. His last season did not go as planned on the RM250 due to illness and injury. Up to date he has had: eight surgeries on his left knee, three on his right knee, two on his back, one on his elbow, and has broken approximately thirty bones, not including the multiple fractures in his hip. He considers himself lucky to have accomplished his dream at an early age and be financially set for life. Although, because riding is his lifestyle and what he does for fun, we will continue to watch him race and win.

Note:  Travis missed a majority of the 2003 series due to injury and in March 2004 apparently broken his leg in his second race back.

FAMILY FUN

Motocross and Off-road riding can be a lot of fun for the whole family. I purchased my first used Suzuki RM125 at the ripe old age of twenty nine and was introduced to track riding/motocross about one year later.  My first time on the track I knew that this was a sport that I wanted my entire family to be involved in somehow.  Then my oldest son began riding his bicycle without training wheels very well at the age of three.  It was time to bring on the Suzuki JR50.  The JR50 was no match for a fearless three year old who knew nothing about braking and did not hesitate to twist his throttle wrist.  Now, as he ages and matures in his riding ability it will allow us to spend more time together on the track without additional supervision required. In the near future we will also snag my daughter and then youngest boy away from their mother and turn them into berm bustin' little ones as well. My daughter currently enjoys the battery powered four wheeler and the youngest has not yet taken his first steps without additional aid. Someday there may even be hope that mom joins in on the fun. After all she can't deny that she enjoys watching the sport.  While watching Travis Pastrana at the 2004 Daytona Supercross win his heat race after being out of the line up for one year she flew off the sofa with some much enthusiasm that I thought someone had lit a fire under her a_ _.
